Dear Friends and Community Partners:

We have exciting news to share since we last wrote to you! This year we will partner with Kennedy High School in South Sacramento in providing three scholarship monies: 1st. prize $1,000; 2nd. prize $500, and 3rd prize $500, to help fund post-secondary education.

Kennedy seniors interested in this scholarship need to submit a 1-minute video on the topic of: “My viewpoint of diversity and inclusion in the community”. The videos will be judged on creativity and impact. Scholarship winners and their parents will be invited to the celebration dinner.

We will celebrate our 32nd anniversary this year. Our “Gold Mountain Celebration” dinner will be on Friday, October 11, 2019 at 5:30 pm. at the “Happy Garden Restaurant” at 5731 Stockton Blvd, Sacramento. More details can be found on www.CACSweb.org.

We will honor Ms. Stephanie Nguyen with the Frank Fat Founder’s Award. Stephanie is the current Councilwoman for District 4 of the Elk Grove City Council and also serves as the Executive Director of Asian Resources, Inc. We will induct the late Mary Tsukamoto (1915-1998) into our Hall of Fame. Mrs. Tsukamoto was a valued educator, community and civil rights activist, and cultural historian for the Japanese community.

Your support and sponsorship will enable the CACS Foundation to continue with our charitable work within the API community: our “Operation Santa Claus” program, numerous supports of cultural, historical, language and other scholarship programs. Our Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) organization. Tax ID# is 81-1929503. We look forward to your participation at our celebration dinner!
