Gold Rush Days is a living history event that takes over Old Sacramento and transforms it into an 49er era mining town. For four days during Labor Day weekend, horse drawn wagons, gun fights, historical exhibits, and the Ethnic Village fills the streets of Old Sacramento. The CACS has been participating in this event since its inception in 2001. CACS has created an authentic looking Chinese mining camp. We have up to 12 volunteers each day in period costume demonstrating the lion dance, tai chi, ma jong, Chinese calligraphy, and many other cultural activities.
