Charlie was drafted during the Korean conflict and serve1952-1953 as a combat infantryman earning a Purple Heart. Upon his return, he utilized the G.I. Bill to finance has tuition to Wayne State University-Detroit and earned a B.S. in Industrial Education. In 1957, Charlie married the love of his life, Barbara. In 1966, he earned a Master’s Degree from University of Michigan in Counseling and Guidance. Charlie continued his studies at Michigan State University in Advanced Studies in School Administration which lead to earning a Certification in Michigan School Administration.
Charlie spent 32 years as a teacher, counselor, assistant principal and principal of middle and high school in the Warren Consolidated School District a northern suburb of Detroit. He retired in 1992 and moved to Folsom California to be near family and grandchildren. After settling down in their new home, Charlie found a part-time job at Cal State Un.-Sacramento in 1998 as a Student Teacher Supervisor and in 2015 Charlie finally retired. During these 17 years, Charlie visited 40 middle and High Schools in the greater Sacramento and suburban areas.
Charlie joined CACS in 1998 and still is active today only a little slower and more cautious. He is proud to be member of the ‘Greatest Generation” that survived the great depression and World War II. He will was 87 in March 2018.
